Continuing its activities to increase its market share in the smartphone industry, Meizu is working on the successor of Meizu 20, which was introduced at the beginning of this year. Not many details have been shared about the Meizu 21 series to date, so there are many questions in mind about what kind of performance it will offer. However, this seems to have changed as of now, as a recent report reveals some of the technical features and design of the devices.
Meizu 21 appeared in MIIT database
A phone from the upcoming Meizu 21 series has appeared on the MIIT database with model number M461Q. Although the name of this device is not known at the moment, we are faced with the standard model according to Digital Chat Station, which is known for its leaks in the industry.
Meizu 21 is largely similar to the Galaxy S23 and iPhone 15 series in terms of design. While the rear camera setup and perforated screen design resemble Samsung’s flagships, its sharp and angular edges bring to mind Apple’s smartphones.
The processor to be used in the smartphone will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Qualcomm has set the launch date of the new processor as October 2023. The new processor will show itself at the company’s annual Snapdragon Summit. The event, which is planned to be held in Maui, Hawaii, will open its doors on October 24-26.
The new processor seems to surprise with its performance as well as its launch date. According to the information received, the processor, which will gain a significant performance upgrade, will host the Cortex-X4 core with a speed of 3.7GHz. Changes are also expected in the core architecture of the processor.
The most current chipset used today, Snadpragon 8 Gen 2, has Cortex-X3 architecture and operates at 3.2 GHz. This means that performance will be directly affected in daily use. In addition, the new processor is expected to have a 1+5+2 architecture, including one “super large” core, five “large” cores and two “small” cores.
It is not clear when the smartphone, which is expected to come with a 50 Megapixel rear camera, will be introduced. However, it is likely to follow a similar promotional schedule to its predecessor. In this case, the first quarter of 2024 stands out.
