The summit of the Rocky Mountains in the United States, Mount Elbert hosts many mountaineers with its geographical beauties. It offers a pleasant time intertwined with nature with both hiking areas and camping areas. However, of course, such places and adventures can also come up with interesting events from time to time.
A person who was camping on Mount Elbert recently went missing. When the lost mountaineer did not return to the camp within the expected time, the people around reported the situation to the search and rescue teams.
He did not answer those who called him as ‘foreign number’
On October 18, a person climbed Colorado’s highest mountain, Mount Elbert, according to a statement by Colorado’s Lake District Search and Rescue Teams (SAR). When the mountaineer did not return to where he was staying, the people around reported that he had disappeared to the search and rescue teams. Search teams tried to reach them by mobile phone as well as the search operations they started in the region. However, the search efforts were unsuccessful. The person, whose search was carried out on the report of the disappearance, returned on his own after 24 hours. The disappeared mountaineer said that he did not pick up his phone because it was called from an unknown number.
Following the mountaineer’s statement, the authorities said, “The missing person did not answer our calls, which were made many times, because he did not recognize the number. If you are late for your climbing schedule and receive repeated calls from an unknown number, please answer the phone. There may be a search and rescue team trying to verify that you are safe!”
