Founded on June 25, 2018, the company continues its preparations to launch its electric vehicle in 2022. From the beginning of the preparation process, there is only one question in mind, “How much will TOGG cost?” According to the news of Cevdet Özdemir from Sabah newspaper, Minister Varank answered this question.
Will TOGG be expensive?
Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, TOGG CEO Gürcan Karakaş and Deputy Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır came together at the event area as part of TEKNOFEST. Talking to the press, the trio did not neglect to answer questions about the domestic car.
Minister Varank, who started his speech with a humorous reproach, said, “I am traveling in the field, the interest in Turkey’s automobile is more than me. Nobody looks at the Minister, but at the car. Hopefully, the processes there will continue as we planned. With Turkey’s automobile project, we are giving Turkey’s answer to the changing automotive industry in the world.
Answering a question about the price of the car right after, the Minister said that TOGG will come off the mass production line at the end of 2022 and that all of Turkey will be proud of it. Regarding the price issue, “The price of the vehicle is not known as of now. However, TOGG will be on the market at a price that will compete with the vehicles in Turkey in its class. ” he said.
Although TOGG and the technologies it uses excite car enthusiasts, the price statement created doubts in the minds. Many people began to look at the Minister’s statement as the domestic electric car would not be cheap.
