Mining company Bitzero, backed by Kevin O’Leary, has chosen North Dakota for its operations.
Bitcoin mining startup Bitzero has chosen North Dakota as its headquarters for its North American operations. The company’s CEO, Akbar Shamji, said Bitzero plans to build a 200-megawatt data center in the state over the next two to three years at a cost of $400 to $500 million.
Bitzero describes itself as a renewable energy mining venture.
Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary is among the names supporting the Bitzero initiative. O’Leary stands out as a strategic investor in Bitzero with Dubai-based Phoenix Group.
Bitzero has raised approximately $100 million in investment capital to date and plans to go public on the Canadian stock exchange and then be listed on the Nasdaq in the next 60 days.
