Mini made an important statement concerning its former customers. According to the statement, Mini has recalled Cooper Hardtop and Clubman models due to fire hazard. This recall announcement covers a period of 6 years in both models. Here are the details about the Mini brand’s announcement to recall the Cooper Hardtop and Clubman models…
Cooper Hardtop and Clubman users recalled for fire hazard!
Mini is recalling older Cooper Hardtop and Clubman models due to fire risk. In a statement, the brand called the Clubman models produced between 2008 and 2014 and the Cooper Hardtop models produced between 2007 and 2013. Cooper S and John Cooper Works variants produced between the aforementioned model years are also included in this recall process.
The error that caused Mini to recall these cars is due to the vehicle’s drain hose. The hose in question is located in the A-pillar on the driver’s side of the vehicle and is damaged when the car reaches high or low temperature levels. This creates a fire hazard over time.
Drain pipe rupture or damage may seem like a simple problem at first. But the situation is more serious than you think. This part is located in the A-pillar of the cars. If the hose ruptures, water may fill the inside of the vehicle and these columns may rust over time. The discharge pipe, which reacts with salt water in the future, can cause a big fire.
In its statement, Mini informed all its dealers around the world about the subject. Dealers are working on solving the problem by trying to reach customers as quickly as possible. In the continuation of the statement, it was stated that the brand was working on the solution of the issue and the problem would be resolved as soon as possible.
The first symptoms related to the subject were noticed in 2019 and 2022. However, Mini did not attempt any recall on the matter. In 2023, when the issue came to the fore again, Mini took action. There are no serious accidents related to the issue. However, the brand does not want to let go of the measure. So what do you think? Don’t forget to give your opinion in the comments section…
