We know that Minecraft is one of the most successful games of all time. Now the creative sandbox genre has passed a different milestone. On Wednesday, Mojang and YouTube joined forces to announce that Minecraft is officially the first video game to garner more than a trillion combined views.
This success of Minecraft began to be celebrated in various ways on the video sharing platform. During Minecraft Live 2021, Mojang Studios stated that the game continues to grow in scale and community over time. In addition, it revealed that it had reported more than 141 million monthly active users in August 2021.
Minecraft community hosts over 35,000 creators
The Minecraft community on YouTube includes 150 countries and over 35,000 established creators. All of which has helped Minecraft become the most watched video game topic on YouTube for years. YouTube and Mojang Studios celebrated this Minecraft milestone in the following ways:
- A Minecraft-themed skin has arrived for YouTube. In the next 24 hours, the YouTube homepage is graced with a new logo celebrating Minecraft and its creators.
- Curated playlists and community celebrations are coming. YouTube releases a playlist highlighting fan-favorite Minecraft videos over the years, including top creators and top-watched videos. There’s also an animated video featuring the same creators. Finally, YouTube Minecraft creators are taking over the official YouTube Instagram account for a day to share their favorite Minecraft moments.
- There is a new way to view minecraft trends. The official YouTube Culture and Trends website now has a dedicated Minecraft landing page where viewers can watch Minecraft’s various stats and metrics over time for creators, videos, and topic trends.
- YouTube creators skin pack has been released. Available free for one year on the Minecraft Marketplace, the YouTube Creator Skin Pack includes Minecraft skins and Character Builder items inspired by many of Minecraft’s biggest YouTube creators.
Minecraft is known as one of the best games of all time. In 2021, the game garnered hundreds of billions of views to pass the one trillion view milestone. He always continues to earn more.
