MicroStrategy, announcing that it has purchased $25 million worth of Bitcoin today, announced its fourth quarter balance sheet.
According to the balance sheet data, on December 31, 2021, 124,391 Bitcoins owned by the company were purchased for $3.752 billion. This reveals that an average of $ 30,159 is paid per Bitcoin.
The company announced earlier today that it purchased 660 Bitcoins for approximately $25 million between December 30, 2021 and January 31, 2022. This shows that the company has 125,051 Bitcoins worth $4.8 billion at the current Bitcoin price.
The SEC recently rejected MicroStrategy’s accounting approach to Bitcoin.
Shares of the company lost approximately 0.4% after the close of business. Last month, the company’s shares fell 34% in line with the price of Bitcoin.
