Microsoft talked about its future plans for Xbox. Xbox Project Management Director Jason Ronald explained the company’s priorities for the game console in an interview. Stating that Xbox users could not improve their video capture and sharing experience enough, Ronald stated that they focused on this issue as a team.

Jason Ronald was a guest on the Iron Lords Podcast YouTube channel. Commenting on the question of whether there are plans to develop the Xbox DVR function, which allows Xbox users to record videos while playing games, Ronald expressed that he is warm to the development of DVR. He also emphasized that the experience of recording and sharing games is very important.

Xbox team prioritizes improving DVR feature

According to Xbox users, the DVR feature has major issues. Players complain that the video they record has audio lag and performance drops during recording. Noting that they are aware of the complaints, Xbox Project Management Director Jason Ronald promised to improve the video capture quality and sharing experience.

Jason Ronald announced that the Microsoft Xbox department is prioritizing fixing problems with the DVR feature. Emphasizing that there is still work to be done even though they are currently working to solve the problems, Ronald said:

I have to say that Game DVR is the only area where I wish we could make more progress than we were able to this year when it comes to capturing and sharing.

The team is working to improve video capture quality on Xbox consoles. But there is still much work to be done. We definitely hear the feedback. We’ve made some improvements to the reliability and quality of video capture, but we know we still have work to do here. So this is definitely a priority for us.

With this statement, Jason Ronald was able to relieve Xbox owners a little. However, he did not explain when the improvements he mentioned will come to the end user. However, it is a pleasing development for console owners that the problems are confirmed firsthand and promised to be fixed.
