According to the news published in the Wall Street Journal, Sony thinks that Activision games should continue to come to PlayStation consoles. Since Microsoft announced its acquisition of Activision, Sony’s value has dropped by $20 billion. Moreover, there is a possibility that Activision games will be released exclusively for Xbox and PCs. Because Microsoft may want their platforms to gain strength against PlayStation in this way.

“We expect Microsoft to comply with contractual agreements and continue to ensure Activision games are multiplatform,” Sony said in a brief statement. Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft Gaming, previously stated that Activision games are supported on various platforms and Microsoft plans to continue supporting these communities in the future.

However, it seems inevitable that some games will be platform specific. Bloomberg tech reporter Dina Bass tweeted a few days ago that Microsoft plans to continue distributing Activision games for PlayStation consoles, but Xbox-exclusive games are also planned.

Activision produces popular games that most people will immediately recognize, such as Overwatch, Diablo, World of Warcraft, Candy Crush, StarCraft, and of course Call of Duty. It’s understandable why Sony is concerned about its position in the gaming world, even when we see these games alone.
