Microsoft said in a meeting with a major ad agency that it plans to allow ad links to be embedded in the neural network’s responses. The company is reportedly already testing ads on the Bing chatbot.
Advertising trials have begun
According to the transmitted information, advertisements will be included in Bing’s responses. For example, when a user asks for the best hotels in their area, the neural network will give Microsoft the names of hotels that offer paid advertising. The company has even taken the first step in this regard.
When Bing’s chatbot is asked about the price of a car air filter, it shows results for an e-commerce site called Parts Geek, which sells auto parts. In other words, the ad placement has started to be tested in the first version of the new Bing, which is only available to a limited number of people.
