
With the starting acceleration feature, office applications will be kept in memory and thus opened quickly at the time of need. Microsoft says the feature can be used on computers with at least 8 GB of RAM and 5 GB of disk space. It also says it will be disabled when the energy saving mode is enabled.

Microsoft uses a number of timed tasks to quietly run Windows tasks and optimize the operating system, but they are not used regularly by most application developers. Google uses a timed task for the Chrome update. Many OEMs use the same method to update drivers and other system components. However, many other applications, such as Adobe Creative Suite, run the starting processes in the normal starter section of Windows, where it can be easily disabled.
