Microsoft confirms: Prices will not change
As you know, the Activision Blizzard agreement has not been finalized yet due to objections from Sony and regulatory bodies. So much so that the agreement, which was said to be completed by the end of the 2023 fiscal year, was postponed upon the FTC’s request for injunctive relief. At this point, the FTC expressed its concerns about Diablo IV’s sales success, cloud gaming and retail sales.
On the other hand, the FTC’s request brought questions about whether Game Pass prices would rise if games such as Call of Duty and Diablo were added. In Microsoft’s defense of injunction, we can say that these questions have been answered. Microsoft lawyers say no price increases are planned based on the acquisition.
For those who don’t know, Game Pass today has been the foundation of Microsoft’s inclusive gaming strategy since its launch six years ago. In this direction, we can say that prices will remain stable for at least a while, even though the new statement is only for the benefit of the agreement.
On the other hand, in our country, the situation may be different. Because, according to a warning message displayed on the Game Pass page, prices are expected to change soon. However, it is worth noting that this information has not yet been confirmed.
