Continuing to develop the Windows 11 operating system, Microsoft this time started testing a feature that users might not like. The company added ads to File Explorer in the latest version.

Microsoft continues to actively develop its latest operating system, Windows 11. Although the additions made by the company are generally welcomed by users, some can be annoying.

This time Microsoft is testing ad display in File Explorer in Windows 11. Ads noticed by members of the Windows Insider program have been integrated into the latest test version of the operating system.

Advertising on a paid product may not be welcome

As you can see from the screenshot, there is a thin banner ad at the top of the File Explorer window . We see that Microsoft advertises its own product in this area. Ads from third-party companies may also be shown in the future. The software giant has made a similar application before (see below)

The purpose of the company is to gather feedback from Insider members. However, it is a fact that Windows users will not find it very positive to show ads in a paid product. Also, there is no guarantee that a feature tried in the test version will definitely be implemented.
