Nvidia, the shining star in the field of artificial intelligence
It is a well-known fact that Nvidia’s AI chips – especially the H100 – have witnessed a massive surge in demand this year due to the rapid growth of productive AI developments. The team in green had the right product at the right time, resulting in millions of orders almost instantly. While this was very profitable for Nvidia, it also resulted in an “unbalanced” supply chain, causing order backlogs of up to six months. AI GPUs have begun to be categorized as industry must-haves, making getting them an issue in itself.
According to Microsoft CTO Kevin Scott, Nvidia chips are now becoming more readily available and the supply chain is becoming increasingly refined. Microsoft has been investing in silicon, but Nvidia’s chips have been the best option available for the past few years, Scott said. Nvidia’s artificial intelligence solutions attract more attention because they are far ahead of their competitors in terms of both production capacity and performance. However, Scott also said that AMD will soon introduce some interesting AI solutions.
