Software giant Microsoft announced that it will remove two features from the Office mobile app at the end of the year. As of December 31, 2022, the company will make the Transfer Files and Share with Nearby features a thing of the past.

As you know, file transfer is a feature that enables file transfer between Office application and computer. However, the company thinks its cloud storage service OneDrive, which integrates seamlessly with Office, is sufficient for the job. So the Transfer Files function is no longer needed.

It will improve the user experience

Share with Nearby, another feature that will be removed from the Office mobile app, made it possible to share files with Android devices at close range, as the name suggests. However, Microsoft believes that this feature does not meet all the current needs of its customers.

Company representatives emphasized that these steps were taken to improve the Microsoft 365 application. As we mentioned in the introduction, these changes will be effective as of 31 December 2022.
