Ethereum software developer ConsenSys’ valuation has soared to $7 billion after raising $450 million during its Series D funding round, according to a press release today.
The funding round was led by blockchain-focused investment firm ParaFi Capital. Technology giant Microsoft is among the investors.
ConsenSys, known for developing the crypto wallet MetaMask, has more than doubled from the $3.2 billion it reached during its $200 million Series C funding round. The funding round included participants like HSBC and UK-based hedge fund Marshall Wace.
The company plans to increase its staff to 1000 employees by the end of the year.
MetaMask2, one of the company’s core products, is scheduled to receive a redesign early this year and reach 30 million monthly active users.
ConsenSys CEO Joseph Lubin said the company has “broad and deep” capabilities.,
