Microsoft’s cloud gaming service, Xbox Cloud Gaming, can be used on both computers and mobile devices. Cloud Gaming, which has been compared to the “Netflix of games” because it offers hundreds of games for a single price, will soon expand.

It was already known that the company is working on a Xiaomi TV Stick-like streaming stick to bring the Xbox experience to smart televisions. While the device, which can work completely independently and does not need a console, is on the agenda with the code name “Project Hobart”; Microsoft broke its silence and shared new details.

Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to TVs with ‘Keystone’

A statement from the authorities on the subject came. A Microsoft spokesperson told Windows Central that they want to offer consumers a low-cost option and make the Xbox experience more accessible.

The spokesperson also said that Keystone is under development. He also stated that it takes a little more time for it to be ready for use, saying:

“There is no change in our vision for Xbox Cloud Gaming. Our goal is to enable people to play the games they want on the device and anywhere they want. As we announced last year, we are working on a game streaming device codenamed Keystone that can be connected to any TV or monitor without the need for a console.

We continually evaluate our efforts, review what we’ve learned, and make sure we add value to our customers. We have made the decision to abandon the current version of the Keystone device. We are focusing on a new approach that will allow us to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to more gamers worldwide in the future.”

How is it different from a game console?

To make a short comparison; Xbox Series X can play games in 8K resolution. It also supports frame rate up to 120 FPS, ray tracing and variable tracking technologies. But not every user needs a high-end system.

Xbox Cloud Gaming based streaming device will also come into play at this point. Of course, it will not be an alternative to the console. However, those who do not want to pay high amounts to play games will achieve what they want thanks to this device.
