Twitter’s rebranding to X also caused problems in software. The new black-backed X logo caused the Microsoft Edge browser to pop up a warning pointing to some kind of security issue.

“Uninstall the app” warning

Twitter’s rebranding was so sudden; All tweet-related expressions, especially the iconic bird logo, were removed in Twitter web and mobile applications, and store screenshots were renewed. However, the change in the icon caused various problems. For example; The Edge browser detected that X was not a Twitter application, but a deceptive application, and gave a warning and offered an option to delete it.

Edge’s marking of X as dangerous has confused some users. Except for the browser giving a false alarm, Twitter has been blocked in some countries because of the new logo.
