Software giant Microsoft is now bringing the Defender security application used on mobile and Windows devices to all platforms. Launching a new version of its security software today, the company has made the new software available as part of the Microsoft 365 service available for Android, Windows, iOS, and macOS .
Security solutions will be accessed from a single point
Designed to protect against local threats as well as online threats, Defender aims to provide users with a single point of access to security solutions , according to Microsoft. However, the new software will show the security status of other devices with the application installed and will work with third-party antivirus or built-in security applications .
Windows Defender, which comes with its own antivirus and malware scanning for already installed and newly downloaded apps on the Android platform, will only include web protection as the iOS platform is more secure . While the new software has less functionality for iOS users, other devices that have the app installed will be able to be quickly checked for security.
