It turned out that Microsoft was trying to find solutions on how to make Xbox games accessible from the App Store before the xCloud system. Apple wants companies like Microsoft and Google to release each game as a separate app that users can download so they can make their games available on iOS. Microsoft, on the other hand, said that forcing users to download hundreds of game applications is a “bad experience”.

Xbox head of business development Lori Wright has drafted a proposal for Apple that would allow Microsoft to put individual game apps in the iOS store without taking up a user’s entire storage space, The Verge reports. Wright asked Apple if it would allow Microsoft to embed its streaming technology only inside the Game Pass app. Because integrating streaming technology into each application separately increases the size of each application to approximately 150 MB. However, in common usage, these applications take up around 30 MB.

Instead of using the device’s processing power, games would be streamed from remote servers powered by Xbox One and Xbox Series X processors. Wright has offered to make Xbox exclusives available to iOS users, apparently to persuade Apple. “An incredibly exciting opportunity for iOS users to access these exclusive AAA titles in addition to Game Pass titles,” wrote an email.

According to information received from Microsoft, Apple rejected this proposal. Microsoft has stopped being on the App Store for now. However, it is a fact that he directed this effort to give players access to Safari.
