If you’re using Microsoft Bing as your internet search engine, it’s very likely that you’ll come across a new feature that the company hasn’t officially announced yet. User “yokoffing”, a member of the Bing reddit group, shared screenshots of a new transition called “Compact View” that appeared in some Bing search results.
The new option is placed in the upper left corner of some Bing search results. When enabled, it reduces the amount of information on the search result page. Thus, the results page looks plainer, which reduces distraction and minimizes eye strain. Thus, it is aimed for users to find information in search queries faster.
It looks like Microsoft is testing the Compact View with a few people before rolling it out to more users, and the leaker could be one of them. In fact, this feature was previously tested on Bing in 2021. However, it is stated that this new version makes many changes to the search result layout. We hope that Microsoft will provide more information about this feature in the near future.
