Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated in his speech that web browsers were a big factor in the rise of the internet and search engines helped organize the web. Microsoft Vice President Yusuf Mehdi then took the floor saying that artificial intelligence will be the next generation of web browsing and search. Consistent with previous leaks, the company introduced the new version of Bing with a larger search box that can be entered with up to 1,000 characters.
The AI-powered Bing: Chat option draws attention.The company will also integrate a chatbot into Bing so people can ask it questions and get answers in natural language. For example, if you are planning a trip to a country, the chatbot will be able to generate a possible itinerary that you can use for each day of your trip; will be able to prepare a meal plan according to your wishes. Of course, those who want will be able to switch between the chatbot and normal Bing search results as they wish.
As for the improvements coming to the Edge web browser… Microsoft says it will integrate the Bing chatbot into the browser. You will be able to use the AI chatbot to look at a website and get a quick summary. For example, you will be able to summarize a complex financial results newsletter.
Other functions of this new chatbot include writing a post for you on Microsoft’s LinkedIn social network and even rewriting some code.
