Microsoft announced today that it will hold an event at the company’s headquarters in the US on February 7. Although the software giant does not share any details on the subject, the event will focus on the company’s work in the field of artificial intelligence.

Shortly after the news hit the press, Sam Altman, CEO of ChatGPT developer OpenAI, shared a photo he took with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and stated that he was “excited” for the event.

A rival chatbot comes from Google and Yandex

Microsoft came to the fore last month with its $10 billion investment in OpenAI. The company is preparing to revamp its Bing search engine. A new Bing interface with ChatGPT integration appeared recently.

Besides Microsoft, Google and Yandex are also preparing their own alternatives to ChatGPT. While Google’s chatbot is called Bard, the Russian internet giant will build a system around the YaLM 2.0 model.
