Microsoft, which received serious criticism by leaving millions of computers behind with the hardware requirements of Windows 11, announced that it would support the Windows 10 operating system for a while. Still, many users find alternative ways to install Windows 11 on their unsupported computers, but these ways do not provide enough ease of use. Windows 11, which usually runs on 8th Gen Intel Coffee Lake and Zen 2 processors and later, was accidentally released for unsupported computers.

Sharing the upcoming updates and features with the users who are in the program with the Windows Insider program, Microsoft accidentally released the development version of 22H2, the next important update of Windows 11, for unsupported computers. On Twitter and Reddit, many Windows Insider program members saw the Windows 11 update on their unsupported computers. In the photo below, AceRimmer 412 user’s computer with Intel i5-7200U processor has received a Windows 11 update notification on Reddit.
Microsoft announced that they are aware of the bug and the appropriate team has started an investigation on this bug. Unsupported computers that were accidentally updated to Windows 11 will be able to return to Windows 10 from the Settings section of Windows 11.
