Micron announced the UFS 4.1 & UFS 3.1 storage chips based on G9 architecture
Micron announced the UFS 4.1 and UFS 3.1 storage chips based on G9 architecture. With new storage chips, artificial intelligence operations will be faster and safe on smartphones.

What does UFS 4.1 storage for smartphones bring?

Micron’s new UFS 4.1 and UFS 3.1 storage chips that will be included in smartphones are based on the G9 processing node and offer improvements in power efficiency and reading/writing speed. The storage capacity of the chips will vary between 256 GB – 1 TB. We will see these memories on ultra thin and foldable smartphones.

Micron says that small software adjustments are also made to increase the user experience and improve the performance of some artificial intelligence operations. For example; UFS 4.1 Storage solutions support the region of the region, which increases literacy efficiency; Data combining improves 60 %of re -positioning and combining the data in the UFS device. The fixed Writebooster provides up to 30 %faster access to data in the Writebooster temporary memory. The smart delay viewer analyzes the delay logs and makes an automatic error discovery process.

The new storage chips will be used on flagship devices shortly after the 1y LPDDR5X chips planned to be released in the beginning of Micron at the beginning of 2026.
