Mersin’s central district Mezitli Municipality gave a seminar on “metaverse” by technology writer Atıf Ünaldı to its employees.
In the seminar held at the Mezitli Municipality Cultural Center, the employees had the chance to ask questions about the subjects they were curious about about the metaverse. In the seminar that Mezitli Mayor Neşet Tarhan also attended, Ünaldı informed the participants about the emergence of the future technology, the metaverse, its application areas, and its use in municipality.
“We are at the very beginning of the Metaverse System”
Stating that the discussions continue on how this new technology can be applied to daily life in a visionary way, Ünaldı said;
“New technologies excite public institutions, businesses and investors as well as consumers. Today, regardless of new trends, countries and institutions must have a digitalization strategy. After the new wave of transformation that started on the Internet, the metaverse entered our lives at a great speed. We are at the very beginning of the metaverse system, which is a multi-layered structure, but we have to be ready and determine future strategies, both as individuals, as institutions and as a country.”
“We Have to Adapt to Technological Developments”
After the seminar, Mayor Tarhan stated that all known about life has changed with the developing technology and it is inevitable that municipalities will also be affected by this change. President Tarhan said;
“We, as Mezitli Municipality, have to adapt to these changes and technological developments. Our employees need to be ready in order to receive the right information. When we attend meetings in developed countries abroad, we seem to be far behind. As a requirement of the age, we need to do new things. We have to adapt in the same way in politics. Politics needs to change and politicians need to say new things. I hope this seminar has opened the horizons of our employees a little bit. He had an idea about new concepts.”
