Decentraland launches Metaverse Fashion Week: NFT collections are showcased in a blockchain-based virtual world where high-end designers and wearable vendors gather. Brands such as Estée Lauder, Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce & Gabbana, and Forever 21 are all participating in the virtual fashion event.
According to Sam Hamilton, creative director of Decentraland, with the rise of digital products and metaverse shopping experiences, Decentraland’s Fashion Week aims to provide a space for people to express themselves and expand their sense of self through wearables in their avatars. In an exclusive interview with Coindesk, Hamilton said:
“I see people in the metaverse are much uglier. People will see a really great use case for NFTs”.
Until March 27, panels that host fashion shows, galleries and brands will be opened in the newly developed corner of Decentraland called the Fashion District.
