Meta’s new stakeholder will offer billions of persons affordable internet
Meta, one of the largest technology companies in the world, has launched a new cooperation to provide connection to communities that do not have internet access or cannot reach expensive internet services. The company aims to serve communities and expand its own ecosystem by making billions of dollars of dollars to improve global internet infrastructure.

Meta makes major investments in submarine cable projects to increase internet access and security. The company aims to strengthen the global connection by building a gigantic sub -cable infrastructure covering three different oceans.

Strategic Partnership with Internet Society

In this respect, Meta has created a new fund to expand internet access worldwide, collaborating with the non -profit -free Internet Society. Meta, which plans to invest $ 30 million by 2030, became the first joint financing provider of this initiative. However, Internet Society aims to attract more supporters to provide sustainable internet access.

Since 2018, Internet Society has established 56 new internet exchange points (IXP) in 45 countries by working with Meta. These points help local internet providers offer faster and more affordable connections. Within the scope of the new cooperation, especially the regions with infrastructure lack of focusing and technical trainings will be trained new experts.

Approximately 2.6 billion people lack internet access worldwide. This prevents them from benefiting from education, health and digital services. According to Sally Wentworth, President of the Internet Society and CEO, the new partnership will help create internet opportunities for more than 2 billion people worldwide. The organization hopes to collect more money in line with this target by taking advantage of the insatiable appetite for new users and potential customers of major technology giants.
