Meta is working on a text-oriented and Instagram-like application that will rival Twitter for a long time to add a new one to its social networks. This platform will basically work like a text-driven Instagram and will have a “decentralized” structure. Rumors have been circulating lately about what the app will look like and when it will be released.
For now, the app is allegedly called “Project 92 (P92)” or “Barcelona”. You will not need a separate account to use the application, you will be able to use it by integrating it with your Instagram accounts.
The app will have a feed where you can create posts of up to 500 characters and add links, photos and videos to your posts. Looking at the leaked images, which you can see just below, its interface looks like a combination of Instagram and Twitter.
Meta will allow you to manage who can reply to your posts and tag you. It also aims to provide continuity in your preferences and settings by allowing you to transfer the list of accounts you have blocked on Instagram.
The application is expected to be released as soon as June. While this is a very recent date, the app has already been tested by a limited number of creators for several months.
