Reality Labs continues to burn money
Reality Labs operates as Meta’s unit that develops devices such as Quest virtual reality headings and Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg acquired Oculus for $ 2 billion in 2014 and started the company’s virtual reality. Since then, Zuckerberg has seen VR and AR technologies as key elements to improve Metaverse, the digital world of the future. Zuckerberg says Metaverse will be the next Great Information Platform.

Meanwhile, Meta announced last week that it plans to invest between 60 and 65 billion dollars for capital expenditures for 2025 to expand the information infrastructure last week. This investment will be used to strengthen the company’s infrastructure in Artificial Intelligence (AI). Zuckerberg has set artificial intelligence at the center of the company’s metaverse targets, and products like Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are part of this strategy. Last year, Meta also introduced the prototype of the augmented reality title Orion. This device has the ability to place digital objects in the real field of view of a person.
