Popular cryptocurrency wallet MetaMask has expanded into the Apple ecosystem by launching an integration with the firm’s payment platform.
On March 29, MetaMask announced a series of updates for its mobile version 4.3.1. The most important of these updates was Apple Pay integration. The problem is that Apple doesn’t support crypto payments directly through its platform, so Wyre, which supports crypto and integrates with Apple Pay, has to be used.
Users can now buy crypto with debit or credit cards, eliminating the need to send ETH to the app upfront. Apple Pay users will be able to deposit a maximum of $400 per day into their wallets using their Visa or Mastercard and Wyre APIs.
MetaMask also uses Transak payment platform to enable users to buy crypto with credit or debit cards. However, those who want to use any of the payment platforms must complete the KYC (know-you-customer) process.
