Metallica issued a crypto scam warning ahead of the launch of their 72 Seasons album.

Taking advantage of the excitement created by Metallica’s new album release and upcoming tour, the scammers began to target metalists through social media impersonation.

Metallica Warns Against Crypto Scams

Legendary metal band Metallica warned fans against crypto gift scams just before the highly anticipated launch of their new album, 72 Seasons.

It is obvious that malicious people leave no stone unturned. We’ve seen YouTube posts, fake accounts, and imitation of famous people or stock markets before. But Metallica was quick to point out the dirty side of social media.

The metal band asked fans to stay away from Metallica Crypto giveaways, saying:

“Let’s be as clear as possible. Metallica crypto gifts are scams.”

Metallica also shared a list of their official social media channels so that no fans are fooled by widespread crypto giveaway scams.

According to data from blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, the amount of digital assets found in known criminal records rose to around $14 billion last year.
