Owner of many social media applications, Meta has introduced features that will delight parents. This will allow parents to view the time their children spend on Messenger and receive updates on contact list changes.

Parents will see who their child is messaging, but not the message content

Meta introduced a new set of safety tools aimed at giving parents more oversight of their teens’ activities in Messenger and Instagram DMs. So now parents can see how much time their teens are spending on Messenger, get updates on changes to their contact lists and privacy settings, and get a notification if their teen decides to block another user.

Parents can now review which types of users (friends, friends of friends or nobody) can message their teens. However, they cannot change this setting. In addition, Meta also stated in its statement that these features specifically do not allow parents to read the content of messages from teens on Messenger or Instagram DM.

After Meta rolled out these new features, “Today’s updates are designed to help teens feel in control of their online experience and parents feel equipped to support their teens.” also made statements.
