Valve’s January 2022 Steam survey has been published. At this point, the increase in Meta Quest 2 remains valid. It even seems clear that it’s not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon. Through its monthly survey, the company collects anonymous data about what hardware and software are used when playing games on Steam.
There has been a stabilization in the number of players choosing Windows 11. In addition, more people than ever before chose Quest 2 when playing PCVR games in January.
Meta Quest 2 has increased the preference rate in games
There are 2.14% of players with VR headsets on the Steam platform. 46 percent of these gamers prefer the Quest 2 VR headset over other options. When we look at the statistics, there is an increase of 6.4 percent compared to December 2021.
According to the data announced by Steam, the leader of the most used titles was determined as Meta Quest 2. At this point, it accounted for more than two-thirds of the VR headsets used on the platform. It was followed by HTC in second place and Valve in third place.
Standalone VR sets are growing in popularity
The overall popularity of standalone VR sets on Steam has also increased by over 50 percent. That means more people are playing Steam PCVR games with these devices than devices designed to run on PC only.
