Meta proposed a reserve, the South Korean AI pushed the chip giant with the opposite of his hand

South Korean -based innovative initiative FuriosaI, which produces special chips for AI (Artificial Intelligence) technologies, rejected the technology giant Meta’s $ 800 million purchasing offer. The company chose to remain independent to develop and produce its own AI chips.

According to the information reported by South Korean media organizations, behind this decision, the post -purchase work strategy and organizational structure took place.

Like many major language models (LLM) manufacturers, Meta moves with the aim of reducing dependence on Nvidia’s specialized chips in LLM training and production processes. Last year, the company introduced its own special artificial intelligence chips and took an important step in this direction. According to a statement in January, Meta plans to invest up to $ 65 billion in artificial intelligence -oriented initiatives this year.

Furiosai and future plans

In addition to these remarkable developments that Furiosaaı has experienced with Meta, the company is currently focusing on its growth goals. In this context, it is said that the company plans to gather an investment of approximately $ 48 million with a campaign expected to be completed this month.

Furiosai, founded by former Samsung Electronics and AMD employee June Paik in 2017, has developed two innovative AI chips so far: Warboy and Renegade (RNGD). The aim of FuriosaI is to provide a serious alternative to giants such as Nvidia and AMD.

Especially RNGD chips stand out with their suitability for logic models. It is stated that the test stages of these chips have been successfully completed in cooperation with LG AI Research and Aramco. Moreover, LG AI Research has reportedly plans to use RNGD chips in its own AI infrastructure.
