Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, is doubling down on Reels’ efforts to be used more. Reels, Instagram and Facebook’s feature to create short videos similar to TikTok, is finally getting an expected innovation. Meta said that the Reels video duration limit for Facebook will be extended to 90 seconds.
Facebook Reals time limit will be 90 seconds
Meta announced that Reels for Facebook will receive new features to increase engagement on the platform. One of the most significant changes was the increase in the maximum length of Reels videos from 60 seconds to 90 seconds. It should be reminded that a similar innovation was implemented for Instagram Reels last July.
Increasing the time limit for the Reels feature on Facebook was already an expected innovation. This will allow users to create longer and more detailed videos. It will also give them more time to showcase their creativity.
Meta will allow creating Reels from photos and videos stored as existing Memories. This will allow users to reuse their old content and turn it into Reels videos.
In addition, Meta will offer “trend templates” that allow users to replace videos from an existing template with their own content. This will allow users to create much more professional Reels without spending too much time on editing and production.
