Express Wi-Fi is coming to an end
For more than five years, the Express Wi-Fi program has provided cheap internet service to people in more than 30 countries. The company stated that although it is ending this service, it will focus on other projects related to internet access.
A statement from Meta: “Together with our partners, we’ve helped expand public Wi-Fi access for people in over 30 countries through the Express Wi-Fi platform. We’ve completed our work on this program to focus on developing other projects, while telecom to provide better connectivity. We are committed to working with partners in the ecosystem.” statements were included.
With the news published late last month, it was revealed that some users were charged due to software errors in the Free Basics program, Meta’s free internet service. It was reported that a total of 1.9 million dollars were collected from users per month, especially in Pakistan.
