According to a tweet from Engadget editor Karissa Bell, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg noted during a panel at the South by Southwest Festival that they’re working to bring NFTs to Instagram shortly. However, he declined to give further details on the matter.
Zuckerberg’s statements coincide with previous reports. Financial Times, in its news in January, emphasized that both Facebook and Instagram users are working to use NFTs in their profile pictures in the future.
Meta has not made an official statement on the subject.
In November, Facebook changed its name to Meta to show their focus more on Metaverse and virtual reality.
