Meta introduces new shortcuts to Messenger app that can be used for actions like sending a message without notification or sharing a GIF during a chat. @everyone, a shortcut familiar to Slack users, can also be used in Messenger.
New shortcuts in Messenger
Messenger now offers @everyone and /silent shortcuts in both iOS and Android apps. @everyone allows all users in the chat to notify, while the /silent shortcut allows sending messages to people in the chat without sending notifications.
iOS users will soon be able to easily find and send a GIF using the /gif shortcut. The other two shortcuts that will come specifically to iOS are /shrug and /tableflip. These shortcuts will also make it easier to send text-based emoticons like table flips and shrugs.
EU’s new digital law can reduce messaging security
This Apart from shortcuts, Messenger will bring the /pay shortcut to iOS and Android users in the US in the coming weeks to make it easier to send and receive money in chat.
