According to WABetaInfo, the latest Android WhatsApp beta update (version 2.23.19.8) includes a new screen called “Third-party chats”. This screen is neither functional nor accessible to users for now.

The European Commission says the aim of the DMA is to “prevent unfair conditions” and “ensure the transparency of important digital services”. Beyond requiring messaging apps to work together, the DMA also demands that users be allowed to uninstall pre-installed apps or shop from alternative app stores.
Both Meta and Microsoft plan to launch their own mobile app stores in response to the DMA.
