German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is a brand that has established a throne in the hearts of automobile enthusiasts with its magnificent models. Besides mass production models, the company is also known for its jaw-dropping concept vehicles.
The auto giant introduced its newest concept vehicle, Vision One-Eleven, today. Fascinating with its design, the car drew attention with its combination of the past and the future.
Here is the Vision One-Eleven inspired by the C111!
The Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven, which looks like something out of a movie, nods to the C111, the company’s experimental car from the 60s and 70s. The vehicle gives us a clue about the performance-oriented cars we will see in the future, as we move from internal combustion engines to electrics.
It would not be wrong to say that the design of Vision One-Eleven looks very stylish. It can be clearly seen that the vehicle was inspired by the original C111 prototype and brought it to the present day. In addition, the slightly flattened appearance of the vehicle is somewhat reminiscent of the brand’s current electric EQS and EQE models.
The vehicle features gull-wing doors that we know from the company’s iconic 300 SL vehicle. On the front of the One-Eleven, we see a design inspired by the fog lights of the C111, unlike the traditional grilles.
There is also an LED-equipped panel at the front that can display messages to pedestrians and other drivers.
The interior of the car is quite spacious considering its low body. Here, as on the outside, we see the orange details. We see a LED pixel screen covering the front completely and a rectangular steering wheel inspired by motorsports, different from the steering wheels we are used to.
Stylish silver armchairs that enhance the old astronaut outfits do not go unnoticed. Mercedes is also talking about an augmented reality headset that turns the entire interior into a user interface.
Of course, the vehicle has remarkable features on the technical side as well as the design. According to Mercedes, the car comes with an axial electric motor that is lighter, compact and more powerful than those used in today’s electric vehicles. The engine was produced by UK-based YASA, owned by Mercedes. The batteries were made with the support of the company’s Formula 1 team.
Let’s say the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven is just a concept, it will not enter mass production. However, the vehicle gives us clues about the company’s future electric supercars and shows that we may see similar ones.
