Mercedes-Benz has officially announced the return of its legendary concept car, following the teaser images it released the other day. The German manufacturer introduced the Vision One-Eleven, a new all-electric sports car work developed in accordance with the C111 concept.

With the introduction, the spirit of the C111, an experimental car series in which Mercedes-Benz presented its new technologies in the 1960s and 1970s, returned. As in the C111, Mercedes-Benz will include its new technologies in the Vision One-Eleven concept.

The German manufacturer, which includes various Wankel and diesel engines in the C111 concept, keeps up with the times and includes an electric power unit in the Vision One-Eleven model. The concept model features a new battery concept with high-performance liquid-cooled round cells, as well as a dual axial flux electric motor.

The dual axial flux electric motor used in the concept model is a product of the British electric motor specialist ‘Yasa’ company, which Mercedes-Benz bought in 2021. Yasa’s next-generation axial flux motors will form the core of the electric powertrain, which will be produced at the Mercedes-Benz facility and will be in the performance class.

Mercedes-Benz claims that its new engines and batteries take up very little space and offer performance to compete with motorsports. Together with the liquid-cooled cylinder cell battery inspired by Formula 1, Vision One-Eleven is thought to be an important step forward for electric cars.

When we take a look at the design of the concept car, it is obvious at first glance that it was inspired by the iconic C111 model. We can say that the general form of the vehicle, especially the color of the vehicle, is largely preserved. We see that Mercedes-Benz, which has already given the C111, which seems to have come from the future, a more modern appearance, also includes a cockpit that does not look like a space shuttle.

It looks like Mercedes-Benz will now showcase its new technologies with One-Eleven, as it did in the C111 in the past. So what do you think about the Mercedes-Benz C111 and Vision One-Eleven concept models? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
