Mercedes-Benz announced that its electric concept car Vision EQXX has successfully completed the long-range test of more than 1,000 km on a single charge. Testing was conducted in several European cities, starting in Germany, then to Switzerland and Italy, and finally to the port city of Cassis near Marseille in the south of France. Temperatures were between 3 and 18 degrees and the vehicle traveled at an average speed of 87 kilometers.
It is stated that the distance traveled is just over 1,000 kilometers. According to Mercedes, the Vision EQXX’s charge status on arrival was around 15 percent and the vehicle had a range of about 140 kilometers more. Average consumption was maintained at a record level of 8.7 kWh per 100 kilometers.
Mercedes first introduced the Vision EQXX earlier this year as an experiment in battery efficiency. With its sporty aims and sleek, futuristic design, the concept car will likely form the basis of a production car that can compete with other luxury EVs such as the Porsche Taycan, Audi E-tron GT and Tesla Roadster.
