Mercedes-Benz has announced that it has entered into a partnership with Microsoft, which is important for the industry, in order to accelerate digital transformation and increase production efficiency. The German automaker also aims to improve its supply chain by connecting its global factories.

With the new MO360 Data Platform, Mercedes-Benz will try to take it one step further in production, supply chain and predictability by connecting nearly 30 passenger car factories around the world to the Microsoft Cloud. The MO360 Data Platform, used by Mercedes-Benz and now supported by Microsoft Azure, provides a one-to-one simulation environment by using real-time data from the production line to the supply part.

Mercedes-Benz and Microsoft partnership will increase efficiency

Once the transformation is complete, Mercedes-Benz will increase production efficiency by 20 percent by 2025. At the same time, more effective logistics activities will be carried out to avoid bottlenecks in the supply chain or to solve the problem.

“This new partnership between Microsoft and Mercedes-Benz will make our global manufacturing network smarter, sustainable and resilient in an era of rising geopolitical and macroeconomic challenges,” said Joerg Burzer, member of the board of directors for production and supply chain management at Mercedes-Benz Group AG. The ability to predict and prevent problems in manufacturing and logistics will become a key competitive advantage when switching to all-electric.” He summarizes the situation by making statements.

Automobiles, which have become much more digital than in the past, bring together technology companies and automobile manufacturers. With the coming together of the two sectors, it will be easier to solve some important problems such as the chip crisis and supply problems.
