Mercedes-Benz is recalling some CLA and GLA models in America!
Mercedes-Benz has decided to recall 4 cars in the USA. According to the statement made, a recall call was made for these vehicles, as a single brake caliper could have a problem. The problem is caused by the brake caliper supplier tightening some bolts incorrectly.
This problem was originally discovered outside of the USA. A user who complained about the sounds coming from the brake caliper, took his vehicle to the service and asked for its maintenance. During this maintenance, service officials discovered that the bolts on the vehicle’s front and rear brake caliper did not meet the torque specifications.
These brake caliper bolts come to us as a part manufactured by the company’s Polish supplier, Hitachi Astemo. 3 of these brake calipers are on the 2020 Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 and 1 on the 2021 Mercedes GLA 250. These 4 vehicles are located in the USA. There is no information yet about vehicles in other parts of the world.
Extensive damage to vehicles can occur due to loose bolts. Especially since it greatly affects the braking performance of the vehicles, it can cause a sudden braking action to be delayed in high-speed places such as highways. This may cause a chain accident.
It is currently unknown whether vehicle owners are aware of this situation. However, Mercedes-Benz will reach vehicle owners from May 3rd. Vehicle owners will be able to go to the nearest authorized service and perform their transactions. So, what are your thoughts? Do you think it’s natural for one of the world’s largest automakers to make such a mistake? Do not forget to share your views with us in the comments section or on the SDN Forum.
