MediaTek announced the Kompanio Ultra processor targeting high -performance Chromebook devices last week. Designed for devices such as Chromebook Plus, this processor stands out with its performance increase and energy efficiency. In addition, the device has strong AI processing capabilities that support artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
Kompanio Ultra offers MediaTek’s capacity to perform 50 trillion transactions per second with the 8th generation neural processing unit (NPU). This development allows automation and workflow optimization that does not require internet connection. Compared to the Snapdragon X processors, it has a higher Tops value, allowing devices to work more efficiently in AI tasks.
Designed with the production process of 3nm, Kompanio Ultra promises up to 50 %of power savings. With a completely large -core CPU architecture, the processor supports transactions that require intensive resources such as video editing, content production and game playing with its eight -core structure. Compared to Snapdragon X Elite, Kompanio Ultra is expected to come to the fore in performance competition with some variants. Chromebook Plus devices can offer an economical alternative to Copilot+ PCs.
The new processor provides superior sound quality during calls and media playing with Hi-Fi sound features. In addition, two external 4K screen support and connection stability and width with Wi-Fi 7 sets new standards.
MediaTek said that Kompanio Ultra processor Chromebooks will be released in a few months. This development may mean more powerful and affordable Chromebook options for users.
