MediaTek, which launched the Dimensity 8000 and 9000 series last year, took the competition in the mobile processor market to the next level. MediaTek announced that its revenue increased by 26 percent compared to the previous year.
MediaTek increased its revenue thanks to the New Dimensity family
The Taiwanese chip manufacturer came to the fore with its new processors that it launched last year. Brands such as OPPO, realme, OnePlus, vivo, Xiaomi and Honor included the new processors developed by MediaTek in their smart devices.
Announcing its financial report for May, the company announced that there was a 1 percent decrease compared to April 2022. Stating that its May balance sheet is 1.75 billion dollars, MediaTek experienced a 26% increase in revenue compared to last year.
The chip maker, which has earned over $1.68 billion in revenue for three consecutive months, has reached its second-quarter targets. MediaTek, which increased its revenue by 33 percent in the first five months of the year, earned $ 8.32 billion.
MediaTek, which has accelerated its work for mid-high segment devices, introduced the Dimensity 1050 chipset last month. Dimensity 1050, the company’s first processor with mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G technologies, has 2 performance and 6 efficiency cores.
Due to the global supply shortage, revenue growth is not expected in June 2022. Considering that smartphone manufacturers have reduced production due to inflation, difficult times await many companies, especially MediaTek and Qualcomm.
