MediaTek’s new flagship processor, MediaTek Dimensity 9200+, has started to appear on the popular benchmarking platform Geekbench. According to early test results, Dimensity 9200+ manages to outperform Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Here are the details.

Dimensity breaks 9200+ records

According to current leaks, the MediaTek 9200+ will be built on the 4nm FinFET process and will be a minor upgrade compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 9200. At this point, we will encounter minor clock speed increases in the most powerful CPU core and graphics unit. Memory, architecture and processing technology will remain the same.

According to the shared screenshots, Dimensity 9200+ scores 2121 in a single core and 5655 in a multi-core in Geekbench V6. Let us remind you that its rival Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has 1510 and 4600 scores in similar tests. In this context, we can say that the new platform surpasses all Android CPU performance records.

Detailed details of the new chipset have not been shared yet. On the other hand, current leaks say that the platform will be based on one Cortex-X3, three Cortex-A715 cores and four Cortex-A510 cores. On the graphics unit side, Immortalis-G715 MC11 will be used.

According to MediaTek’s statements, Dimensity 9200+ will be released on May 10. The new chipset is expected to accompany the flagship Vivo and Realme phones first.
