MediaTek, one of the leading names in the market when it comes to mobile processors, has officially introduced its new flagship processor Dimensity 9200+ chipset. Focus on high-end flagship smartphones, the processor will rival the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Let’s look at the details together.

Dimensity 9200+ introduced

According to the shared details, MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ is based on 4nm process technology, similar to Dimensity 9200, and will appear with minor clock speed increases. However, the processor’s primary Cortex-X3 cores are 3.05 GHz to 3.35 GHz, three Cortex-A715 cores are 2.85 GHz to 3 GHz, and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores are 1.8 GHz. It will offer increased clock speeds from 1 to 2 GHz.

In addition, MediaTek states that the Immortalis-G715 graphics unit accompanying the Dimensity 9200+ will offer 17 percent higher performance. The processor’s mmWave 5G, Wi-Fi 7 support, AI processing unit and image signal processor have not changed. The giant manufacturer did not mention the performance figures of the new platform. However, in the past weeks, we saw that the processor displayed on the Geekbench platform scored 2121 in a single core and 5655 in a multi-core.

Let us remind you that its rival Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has 1510 and 4600 scores in similar tests. We’ll have to wait a while longer for the first phones powered by the Dimensity 9200+ platform. While MediaTek hasn’t specifically shared any model names, it did report that the first models to host the new platform will hit the market later this month.
