In the mobile processor world, competition is hot every day, while MediaTek introduced the latest chipset sets. Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 7400x, these two models are replaced by last year’s Dimensity 7300 series. These processors, which attract attention with their stronger artificial intelligence performance, advanced game optimization and energy efficiency, will strengthen the new generation of smartphones. MediaTek Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 7400X Features

MediaTek’s latest chipset sets are under the 4NM production process of TSMC to provide advanced performance and energy efficiency. With eight-core CPU structure, these processors have a Cortex-A78 cores running at four 2.6GHz and Cortex-A55 seeds of four 2.0GHz. On the graphic side, Mali-G615 MC2 GPU makes the mobile gaming experience more fluent.

Supporting LPDDR5 and LPDDR4X technologies as memory support, processors can reach speeds up to 6400Mbps. On the storage side, it is compatible with UFS 3.1 and UFS 2.2. When we look at the connection features, these chipset sets, which offer 5G support, can reach 3.27GBPPs download speed thanks to the 3CC carrier merging technology. It also promises high performance in wireless connections with the support of Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.

In view of imaging, MediaTek provides camera support up to 200 megapixes with IMIMGİQ 950 ISP technology. 4K HDR video recording (30FPS), artificial intelligence -supported automatic focus, electronic image stabilization (EIS) and face recognition are increasing photo and video performance. On the screen side, the Miravision 955 engine provides support for 120Hz WFHD+ and 144Hz Full HD+ screens and provides a more fluent visual experience.

On the artificial intelligence side, the APU 655 unit offers 15 percent more performance than the previous generation. With the Ultrasave 3.0+ technology, power consumption is reduced by 36 percent and the battery life is extended. Google Ultra HDR support provides a wider dynamic range and increases the photo and video experience to the highest level.

Although these two processors are largely similar in terms of technical specifications, they are decomposed in terms of targeted device types. Dimensity 7400 is optimized for traditional smartphones, while Dimensity 7400X has been developed specifically for foldable devices. Since power management and multiple screen use on foldable phones are more important, 7400X offers additional improvements in these areas.

The new Dimensity 7400 and 7400X processors are expected to be released in the first quarter of 2025.
